Go East: Are the Pet Shop Boys Headed to Beijing?
Could be one for fans of camp '80s electronica here: Cerebral English synthpoppers Pet Shop Boys might be set to stop by as part of a tour involving Beijing and "other Chinese cities" according to Chinamusicradar.com.
According to the report, the Boys will be in China between August 14-28.
There was no confirmation of this on their official website. Tellingly, however, there are China-sized holes in their tour itinerary as they take in Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Thailand around mid-late August.
Let's hope they're just waiting for the stamp to dry on their tourist visas before gleefully announcing a foray into China.

*UPDATE*
A mixture of detective work, announcements from various sources, and the fact that ticket vendors Gettickets.cn are now advertising the sale of tickets for an August 22 show, would seem to suggest that Pet Shop Boys will indeed be coming to Beijing.

While I think you're probably right, mattman_183, I'm an eternal optimist, and I have my fingers firmly crossed that we'll get to see them here in Beijing

No. They aren't headed to Beijing. They are going to announce they are, and like every band ever to do so, they will begin to slowly get sucked into the creative and entertainment abyss that is Beijing and cancel the stop.
