Ben Folds Five Flake: Beijing Gig No More

New year, same old broken promises. Ben Folds Five have pulled out of their scheduled performance here in February. They were slated to play as part of the JUE Festival next month but we just received word from the organisers that the show has been pulled.

It's been put down to some miscommunication in the Folds camp, and is a blow to JUE Fest organisers Split Works who seemed to have pulled off a massive coup by getting the North Carolinan piano rockers to kick off their 2013 edition. Never fear, there have been some big names mentioned in replacement of Ben Folds Five, but we're saying nothing until they are confirmed.

It's a pity Ben's not coming, Team TBJ had just several minutes coming up with some questions for auld Speccy Folds including:

• Which was your toughest break up? (He's a serial marrier having been married four times and the band have only recently got back together, get it?)
• Is it your love for misogynistic hip-hop that leads to all your divorces, Speccy? (He famously covered Dr. Dre's "B*tches Ain't Sh*t", and he wears glasses)
• Do you ever steal music? (He hates music piracy)
• What's the biggest thing you've ever folded? (His name is Folds)

Alas, we might never find out the answers to our queries now.

We'll be sure to bring you news of their replacements as soon as we find out from the organisers, and we've been promised another round of confirmations for the festival very soon.
