Late Night Tapas or Multi-course Soirées: ROOMbeijing opens in the CBD
Local celeb chef Brian McKenna’s new CBD nightspot is finally open, after much anticipation. With a fortune spent on its design, the single room interior does a remarkable job of blending disparate elements.
The bar becomes a DJ lounge, which in turn gives way to the main dining area, then a long runway of open kitchen, all unified by striking wall murals, graffiti and contemporary art pieces.
The core appetizers, mains and desserts are available in small, medium or large portions (RMB 50, 80 and 100, respectively), a neat system that aims to facilitate any dining situation from late night tapas to a multi-course romantic soirée.
Good for: Hip, laid-back experience with up-market cuisine in a classy nightspot atmosphere.
While you’re in the neighborhood: Thursday night is ladies’ night at Xiu.
