Daily Delivery Tour: Beer From Some of Beijing's Best Brewpubs

Despite an ease in restrictions being announced recently, there is still no sign of when in-dining might resume, so it’s just as important as ever to keep supporting Beijing’s local businesses as much as we can. For beer lovers, especially craft beer lovers, there is a super easy way you can help out your favorite local brewpub, which is of course by buying their beer!

The majority of Beijing’s breweries have a variety of deals on growlers, cases and cans of beer so that you can enjoy your favorite tipple right at home.

Jing A

Since the May Day holiday Jing A have been offering up some great discounts with 30 percent discount on 1-liter growlers and a 20 percent discount on bottles and cans. Whether you’re looking for the classic Tuhao Gold Pilsner (RMB 66.5 for 1L) or a fruitier number like Triple Berry Nectar (RMB 98 for 1L), they have you covered. On delivery apps they have tonnes of different beers to purchase as growlers, but if you want access to their complete menu, head to one of their seven branches to pick up in person.

Great Leap Brewing

Along with their usual cans of classic Great Leap beers like Honey Ma Gold (RMB 25) or Hidden Noble Session IPA (RMB 30) they are also now offering beer on tap freshly canned on delivery apps. They have a total of ten beers available which are either priced RMB 60 or RMB 75 for two 500ml cans depending on the beer. However, if you prefer, your beer in a bag, a la Qingdao style, you can call one of the locations (see numbers in the poster below) to also order, or alternatively pick up the beer in person from one of their branches.

Arrow Factory

If you’ve been around the Liangma River recently then chances are you’ll probably have seen what a hotspot the area surrounding Arrow Factory has become. Of course, if you don’t fancy risking being told to move on by a bao'an but really want an Arrow beer then why not order one instead? They have a range of their most popular beers available for delivery and they can be bought either as a standard 500ml glass or a 1L growler. If you return their growler bottles you’ll also receive RMB 10 back, plus you’re helping out the environment!

It's available to order on Meituan Waimi (they’re listed as “Stuff’d” so search for this name) and JSS (under Arrow Factory) or can be picked up in person.

Slow Boat

Now, unlike some of the other breweries, Slow Boat aren’t offering their beers in growlers, however they are offering some impressive discounts on their bottles, with cases of 24 or six available to order. Just take a look at their Monkey Fist IPA for example, a case of 24 330ml bottles is RMB 539 (only 22.5 RMB a bottle), or a case of six for RMB 150 (RMB 25 per bottle). Seeing as an individual bottle costs RMB 40 that’s a pretty significant discount! Why not pair some of their beers with one of their burgers, they were the 2021 Burger Cup Champions after all so if you haven’t given them a try you really should.

Commune Reserve

A relative newcomer to the Beijing beer scene, Commune Reserve is another brewpub offering growlers of beer for delivery. They have either 1L or 2L growlers available, the 1L growlers are 20 percent off and the 2L growlers are a whopping 40 percent off. They currently have four different beers available to buy 1L growlers of and six different beers for 2L growlers.
