This is going to be an unfair review because when I arrived there was no "J" in CJW. There was no Jazz, but I've heard it's a pretty sweet vibe when the music's going.

The place was a pretty well-lit space and that's always important to me because I'm not a vampire, nor a World of Warcraft addict, nor a cave dweller, nor a Cheney.

The decor was a mix of pompous-brandy sipping-New Yorker meets new-age but still middle-aged Chinese "Yes man"...Meaning it looked like someone just openned a popular magazine, turned a few pages, and said, "This looks hip, copy this exact design."

The bar feels completely void of any Chinese influence, besides the waitstaff and the crappy local beer.

Shanghai/Hong Kong trendy, Fail!

Snack food is available, decent and somewhat inexpensive when compared to the drinks at somewhere around 40 kuai, but as a pseudo-trendy bar it's best to stick with what they know best, the drinks!

The drinks come with alcohol in them. Seriously! I shit you not, you will be ordering a real alcholic beverage. Moreover, if you order a draft they will actually bring it in a glass the size of half a pitcher...Madness!

In closing, there's no pink shirt wearing, man purse toting, pretentious wannabes in CJW yet, but change will come...Like Ghostface Killah.
