MEI Bar Has a New Band, The Freddie James Project, and They Are Fantastic

We can say in all honesty that cover bands aren’t normally our thing as they are usually lame and reminiscent of our early teen years, frequenting Bar Mitzvahs in hope of snagging a cigar from someone's grandpa. Luckily for us, this isn’t the case with The Freddie James Project, the current band in residence at MEI Bar, also known as the all-encompassing nightlife spot at the Rosewood Hotel.
 

This seven-piece band hailing from Toronto, will be playing nightly, from 9pm onwards, a selection of their signature soul, R&B, contemporary favorites, along with interacting with the MEI guests for special song requests. We were particularly impressed by their opening number, a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” immediately followed by a tasteful selection of soul and disco classics that subsequently flipped the party switch into warp speed.
 

If you're looking for a cover band that will play something old, something new, and occaisionaly a couple numbers that are also a little blue, then this is your best option. They will be banging away on the MEI Bar stage from now until the end of summer, so don’t miss out on this incredible act.

In addition to the new band, MEI Bar are also unleashing a series of new drink specials, including half-price on all cocktails during the week (6-9pm), every Wednesday their “Be Glamorous” night will feature free-flow cocktails for the ladies, as well as half-price bottles of Belvedere Vodka every Wednesday between February 9 to June 1, which are infused with your choice of fresh cranberries, lime, or oranges and can't but help you get down and boogie to the lush sounds of the 80s.

An elegant setting, filled with slick entertainment, and great drink deals are what have helped MEI Bar become a destination not only for the guests of the Rosewood but also many around town looking to paint the town brown.
