Foreign visitors that I’ve taken here have loved this place (Gongti branch). Not only is the décor quite cool with lots of the owners’ art works placed throughout the restaurant (the karma sutra stone carving is worth a look) but the food is completely different from the Chinese food that people generally get overseas. The food is spicy but without the mala of Sichuan food which can be a little confronting for first-timers. Favourite dishes include the mint salad, the ants climbing the mountain vermicilli, the deep fried prawns, the mashed potato and of course, the ribs which are so well cooked that the meat just falls off the bones. The service is good (there are buttons on your table that you can press according to what service you require…) and the prices reasonable (for an upmarket Chinese restaurant).
