Review of Heaven Supermarket
It is packed every night. Tables are sprawled across the sidewalk and the indoor seating is also 2 floors and spacious. You want to smoke hookah? No problem. Cigars? Done. Drink shots of most liquors? Sure. Bottle of wine? They have it. Drink some obscure cider or beer? It is all there. Somehow nobody has reviewed this place even though it is hard to find one of the 150 seats in the place on any given night at any random time starting from after like 7pm. Compare it to the crapfactory next to it (the James Joyce) or the bar that replaced its old location (Friend...LOLLLLL) or any other bar in the city just about, and this place is better. Hopefully the James Joyce rightfully closes and Heaven can expand.

Re: Lives up to the name...best place to drink in the city
This place does have a good range of cold imported beer at attrative prices which puts the Jenny Lous and April Gourmets (never mind the larger expat friendly supermarkets) to shame. So I usually go there on beer runs.
As far as whether one might consider it to be the best place to drink - that depends if you like your watering hole to be very loud, roudy and smoke-filled. Inside, it has the vibe of a hybrid between an enlarged xiaomaibu and a dive bar (admittedly, this is original, and maybe could be considerd genius in Beijing). Outside it is similar to James Joyce, which tends to have more older people and sometimes even families (I doubt you would want to take your kids to the more student friendly Heaven).
They also have no beer on tap, unlike the James Joyce. Food at both places seems equally awful.
