Talking Pints: Paddy's Irish Bar Takes Flight, as Aeroplane Lands

CNN reckons China is the second best drinking nation in the world. As capital, that should make ours one of the best cities in the world for an inebriate. What do you reckon? I know I don't eat or drink congee to help me get over a hangover.

Confirmed: Intro 2013 will be held at Crab Island on May 25. The lineup will consist of DJ BB Deng, Bite-Size Buddha, Jonas Rosch, NiChiFanLeMei, Sulumi, We are not invited, Ludo V, Cad73 and Digital 21. You can get tickets for RMB 150 until May 1, then RMB 200 until May 23. On the door they'll set you back RMB 300. Not to be missed.

To celebrate the opening of their outdoor seating area, Slow Boat Brewery Taproom have introduced some new items to their food menu. You can now get 1/3-pound burgers and crispy fries. They're also introducing a Saturday Batiao Burgers & Brews promotion which allows you a RMB 60 pitcher with every burger order.

Paddy's Irish Bar (aka Paddy's Sanlitun) is beginning to hit its stride over on the Houjie. Among their new events are a Thursday Quiz Night, a Friday Live Music Night, a Monday Open Mic Comedy Night as well as a daily happy hour. They've also got a new food menu on the go. Cat Nelson, our Dining Editor, will be trying that out and delivering you the skinny soon. But in the meantime, our intrepid Iain Shaw had this to say:

"You wouldn't expect chilli chorizo to be the outstanding item on an Irish bar's menu, but it's the surprising standout among a solid bunch of offerings at the new Paddy's in Sanlitun. Chorizo in a spicy chilli sauce, chickpeas and coriander, all served atop a bed of white rice. Try it next time you're in Paddy's. The ribs are also a good shout for hungry bellies. If you must go traditional, the pork and rosemary burger won't let you down, and there are other pub favorites like bangers and mash to fill you up."

Migas officially opens its rooftop next Friday. Alton Miller will be on the wheels for the opening night.

Weibo teased us with the threat of yet a new brewery "coming soon." You can never have enough people making beer, after all.

• Black Eyeliner is back at Dada tonight.
• KiNK plays at Haze tonight. Part of one of a big weekend for the CBD night spot.
• Part two sees Aeroplane wings his way to Haze for a show on Saturday night. A lot of buzz about this one.
