UCCA X TOUCH Contact Improvisation Workshop
Created in the early 1970s, Contact Improvisation is a kind of free-flow dance form that could be described as a flowing conversation through physical contact. Inspired by Japanese Aikido, Zen Buddhist practices, gymnastics, and Tai Chi, fans of the form say that it can heal participants’ fear of their bodies and encourage emotional openness towards themselves and others. On Sep 28, the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art invites renowned choreographer and performer Ulli Wittemann to present a two-hour Contact Improvisation workshop. RMB 220 (Sign up here). 4-6pm. UCCA
Short movie screening at Goethe Institute China
Goethe Institute China is featuring a collection of short films that shed meaningful light on the relationship between the older and younger generations. The movies range from works by emerging directors from a wide variety of different countries, and award-winners from Leipzig International Documentary and Short Film Festival. Biking, Boating, and Fun at Tongzhou Grand Canal
The Grand Canal sits around 30km from the city center but is easily accessible via public transportation. It houses a multifunctional park that provides everything from an amusement park, numerous scenic sites, forests, and a well-marked and well-maintained walkway that is great for both cycling and jogging.
