There's Still Time to Get Down to Day One of the 2019 Beijing Burger Festival (Plus More to Come Tomorrow)
We're only a few hours in and Beijingers are already turning out in their thousands for the Route 66-themed burger extravaganza that is the 2019 Beijing Burger Festival. With clear skies and relatively low pollution set to continue for the rest of the weekend, we're expecting record high levels of sizzling deliciousness thanks to a packed house of vendors, some familiar and some new, as well as a full line-up of entertainent.
Check out some early photos of the event below then get yourself down to Galaxy Soho — there are still more than 14 hours of burger mayhem left to get involved in.
Of course, Burger Fest is always a feast for the eyes and ears as much as it is for the tastebuds. the Beijinger knows better than anybody that eating burgers for two days straight is tough, which is why entertainment can be equally as important; to help you digest, keep you moving, and to occasionally distract you from the unfettered amounts of sizzling meat and veggie options on offer. This year, we've compiled our Burger Fest line-up with all of this in mind, selecting five bands who we consider to be some of the best show-stoppers in town, spanning everything from Cuban dance to straight up rock 'n' roll madness. Without further ado, here's what's still to come on both days:
- 12.30pm: DJ Peter Stone (Saturday), DJ Haoger (Sunday)
- 1pm: Soul Shake
- 2pm: Great Buffalo Blues
- 3pm: Beijing’s Best Buns Contest
- 4pm: The Sons of Thunder
- 5pm: Air Guitar Contest
- 6pm: The Flip Side
- 7pm: Sazon
You can read all about all the entertainment on offer in this blog.
Don't know how to get to Galaxy Soho? It's just a short walk southeast of Chaoyangmen subway station, at the intersection of Lines 2 and 6 (the most convenient exit to take is exit G). More detailed directions can be found here.
Don't forget, voting for the preliminary round of the 2019 Beijing Burger Cup kicked off this morning (Sat, Jun 22). You have 120 burger joints to choose from, each in four brackets. Your task? Select up to eight of your favorites in each four. Read more about how you will select Beijing's best burger here.
