New China World Mall restaurant from Brick & Wood, formerly of Qianliang Hutong. Creative Japanese cuisine with a daily changing menu based on seasonal ingredients. Only advance reservations accepted. 

Perhaps not surprisingly from the people who brought us Sanlitun's most Instagrammed terrace (RIP), we're loving everything about the terrace at Migas Mercado, from the striking yellow and purple color scheme to the panoramic CBD views. 

Originating in Taipei in 1981, the first Black Knight on the mainland was opened in Beijing in 2016. Situated next to Kro's Nest at the Winterless Center, this 300-square-meter venue can seat over 100 people, with tables of varying sizes and large private rooms on the second floor. 

Located in Guomao's Yintai Centre, and surrounded by luxury brands such as Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford, and Ralph Lauren, Line Café & Store offers a variety hot drinks (RMB 27-38), sweets (RMB 30-50), and sandwiches (RMB 98!) for parents to refuel inbetween splooging reds while their children are free to run around and play in the accompanying (and massive) "In Kids With Line Friends" play and ball park.

Seeing themselves as competitors of Da Dong, they are ambitious enough to open the branches next to Da Dong, and the result was no bad. It is RMB 268 for a whole duck and RMB 134 for half. There are some down-to-earth simple foods here, such as Youpomian (RMB 16), dumplings (RMB 48) and Youtiao (RMB 12). They also provide some posh and fancy Chinese dishes, such as sea cucumber soup (RMB 168), Wagyu beef which is covered with cotton candy and fried Angus beef ribs (RMB 168).

A spinoff from subtly elegant fine dining restaurant Xin Rongji, Rong Xiao Guan embodies the trend of big name restaurants launching cheaper, “popular” brands (see also: Da Dong Duck). Rong Xiao Guan might be a casual restaurant, but they aren’t resting on their laurels when it comes to the quality of the food – the Jiangsu-style dishes sing with sweet and savory flavors.
