Midnight in Peking Pre-Launch

Tuesday, August 23 The Beijing literary (and art, and publishing) community gathered on The Bookworm's rooftop to celebrate the pre-launch of Paul French's new book Midnight in Peking, which tells the true story of the murder of Pamela Werner in 1937, just before Beijing falls to Japanese troops. French will also be doing an author talk on September 14 at The Bookworm. Also check out our feature of the novel and its accompanying audio tour in our new September issue (see page 48).
