Canada Day Hot Pepper Eating Contest
Saturday, June 25 Nine brave souls lined up to face off in the hottest eating contest in Beijing. This year marked the sixth annual the beijinger Hot Pepper Eating Contest at Canada Day where reigning champ Gabriel Monroe won the day by consuming 60 chilies. A global range of spicy food was raffled off for the rest of the crowd with lucky winners receiving vouchers to Ganges Indian Restaurant, Punjabi Indian Restaurant, Taj Pavilion Indian Restaurant, Mughal’s Restaurant, Purple Haze, Mirch Masala, and Casa Latina.
