Roy McGrath is a Chicago-based saxophonist , woodwind player , composer and bandleader . Roy was born and raised in san juan, Puerto Rico, and educated in Boston, New Orleans, and Chicago. His playing and songwriting have been influenced by these diverse locations。In addition to leading his own band and recording, he is a member of several other bands and is a sought-after performer, recording artist and producer. He has led four missions to Mexico, Singapore, Myanmar, South Korea and China.As a composer and arranger, Roy firmly inherited the tradition of jazz, but his Caribbean heritage has always been his spiritual pillar, which has allowed him to create completely original works that truly express his personality.
