Yao and I often ask ourselves, as DJs, what moment we cherish most. Athletes talk about that “flow state” in competition—being so lost in the game that nothing else exists. I’ve felt it on the decks too: being in the right place at the right time, dropping exactly the right tune.

But there’s one more element: the people dancing. Maybe it’s only when you all slip into your own flow state that I can reach mine.
