Gao Taihang is a saxophonist and composer active in Beijing's jazz music scene since 2006. As a member of the "Red Hand" quintet and leader of his own quartet, he made important contributions to jazz music in Beijing. His bands also include "Xia Jia Quartet", Rafal Sarnecki, "Bad Monk", "David", "Beijing Blue Note Big Band", "Three Sergeants Syndrome", "Beijing City Big Band", "Afrokoko Roots" and "Not Certain". He has participated in "Nine Gates Jazz Festival", "Turtle Island Jazz Festival", "Niigata Jazz Festival", "Guangzhou Jazz Festival", "Midi Jazz Festival" and "Temple of Earth Music Festival". In April 2019, Gao Taihang and pianist Xia Jia released the original album "Confluence". He currently teaches at the Beijing Institute of Modern Music.
