To celebrate the recent reopening of Beijing, we’re gearing up to host our first Tap Takeover of 2020!

From Thursday May 21 to Friday the 22nd, we’re welcoming Wuhan’s No. 18 Brewery to 京A Brewpub Xingfucun. They’re old friends and brilliant brewers, and boy, what a year they’ve had so far.

Forced to close for over 70 days, they’ve been through a tough few months. They’re now emerging on the other side, raring to go. Last week No. 18 made waves across the Chinese web with the release of their ‘Wuhan, Stay Strong’ lager, which featured a special peel-off label that documented Wuhan’s journey over the last 90 days. It was the kind of project only they could pull off: simple, sweet, real, resonant. Unsurprisingly, it was an online sensation.

Back in the year 2 BC (“Before Covid”, aka 2017), we teamed up with No. 18 to brew a special Wuhan-style stout. That was “Guo Zao”, and it featured black sesame and sticky rice – key ingredients in the city’s famous Reganmian (hot dry noodles).

For this special tap takeover, we’ll have five of their beers on tap, plus a limited quantity of ‘Wuhan, Stay Strong’ cans for takeaway.
