Huanghuacheng Great Wall was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is situated at Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, and is about 65 kilometers away from downtown Beijing. Huanghuachang Great Wall has a length of 11 kilometers. It was built very strong and solid. The inscriptions of two big Chinese characters of ‘Jin tang’ which means being very sturdy and firm on a cliff of the Wall tells the reason why Huanghualing Great Wall is also called Jintang Great Wall. Along with the other magnificent ancient sections of the Great Wall, Huanghuacheng Great Wall also has beautiful natural scenery characterized with lush vegetation, mountains, and lake. In the summer Huanghuacheng Great Wall gets its most charming scenery when the surrounding countryside is decorated with a sea of blossomed yellow flowers. Also there are the crescent-shaped Huanghuacheng reservoir and clear Haoming Lake lying close to the Great Wall. The unique scenery of the ancient wall immersed in the water is created by the lake that divides the Huanghuacheng Great Wall into several parts.These are hikes where you need a good physical condition.
