This is Beijing in the second ring road. As night falls, the sleepy city begins to wake up, Gulou Street is gradually fainting, and Temple in the archway No. 206 is about to play the city’s melody.

This is the most important collective summer in Gulou area this year.

Archway No. 206 , Gulou East Street , is a street sign made of music and fine wine.

This year's been hard on all of us, and Temple's biggest regret of 2020 is being unable to be there for you guys to help carry the weight as we had done in the last 9 years.

At the beginning of the millennium, the first batch of Livehouses in China were born in the Gulou area of ​​Beijing.

In 2004 , Yugong Yishan moved to the site of the Duan Qirui government; in 2005 , Laojiang Jinjiu was born in Zhongku Hutong; in 2007 , MAO was born on Gulou East Street.

With the vigorous development of these iconic Livehouses , Drum Tower has become an active area of ​​underground music in Beijing, witnessing the growth of countless musicians, and even rising to the symbol of music culture. Foreign media rated it as " Beijing Brooklyn " .

For reasons beyond our control, we've stayed quiet since February. Call it a period of hibernation if you will. But we are back in business and at the end of this month we will be celebrating its 9th anniversary louder than ever! 

2011 Nian 7 months, with the Drum Tower in Beijing, was born one different from the other Livehouse bar: Temple Bar altar bar.

The performances here are free of charge, and you can party until dawn with just a glass of wine. There are cheap crafts, as well as elegant cocktails. There are band performances, talk shows and independent film screenings.

Here, you can meet professional actors, artists, musicians, couriers, gray-haired old people, and even city scavengers, and spend their weekends happily.

At the end of this month,  on July 31st and August 1st ,  Temple will be celebrating its 9th anniversary! That's right folks, we are closing in on a decade of drunken merriment and the celebration of that good ol' devil music!
