On the 35th seven-day Monday of 2020, it’s too late if you don’t love each other
On August 25th, the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, the annual Chinese Valentine's Day, again as scheduled. Still worrying about finding the right place to date? We have arranged for everyone a good place with movies, poems, and wine. In the Nanyang Theater in the Hutong of Dongcheng District, the film "Patterson" was screened by Nanyang Shareji and Photopen.
"Patterson" is directed by American filmmaker Jim Jamush, starring Adam Driver and Geshfi Farahani, and was once shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 69th Cannes Film Festival. For Jamusch, the representative of American independent film, the French town of the French Riviera is already familiar. As early as 1984, Jia Muxu's debut film "The Shadow of Paradise" won the Golden Camera Director's debut award here. Jia Muxu's style was commented by netizens as "indifferent and alienated imagery, wandering complex".
Jim Jamush, with cool white hair, is not only a film director, but also a poet and rock jazz musician. And "Patterson", although it tells the relationship between a man and a woman: Patterson and his girlfriend Laura, living the days that many literary and artistic youths yearn for, two people, a dog, work and love, but not Just an ordinary romantic movie. It is more about poetry and thinking, about the art of daily life, about ordinary life, and in the final analysis, it is about what love may eventually become, or the original face of love.
What is the face of love? Some people think that it is the unparalleled love of "Titanic", some people think of "Marriage Story" with rice but not cooking, think of "City of Philharmonic" without complaint, and "Love Letter" has stopped talking. The answer to "Patterson" is open. It captures the seven days of the protagonist's life, day after day, and these seven days look no different from the other seven days. The seven days of God's creation, or our busy week, may be so and so, usually calm. Love melts in it, sitting beside you in the subtle expression, waiting for us to ignore or discover, lose or cherish.
This time I can’t sit beside you sadly: The auditorium of the "Patterson" Tanabata screening event is divided into couples and singles areas. Upstairs in Nanyang Theater, Joyland offers a 12 % discount on drinks with tickets . Maybe reunion, maybe encounter, "Sometimes a blank page means more possibilities"-the poet in the movie said.
This screening is a collaboration between Nanyang·Sharingji and Photopen, and will be held in Nanyang Theater. Nanyang Theater is located at No. 6 Nanyang Hutong, the entrance of Jiu Shui Theater on the left hand side of the entrance on the first floor. On August 25, the 35th seven-day Monday of 2020, it will be too late if you don’t love each other again.
Camera Stylo is going host another event in collaboration with the theatre at NanYang 5LMEET. This one is for all you Beijing romantics...
