Beijing Indie Rock band Mimik banka celebrate their second album release with a concert in Mao on Dec 6. The band will play a best of selection from their three different releases that demonstrate the music progression. The addition of a Visual artist QIbo also joins the band to provide visual landscape dedicated to the band’s music. o
About their music
The new album “Mimik Banka'' focuses on stories of people in cities. It’s about their dilemmas, longing and love. Some stories are from others, some are their own. Mimik Banka’s listeners like to describe the band’s music with the label “surreal post-impressionism”. In fact, Mimik Banka has been writing music based on reality from the cities they live in and the people around them, Beijing, Düsseldorf, Taipei, Urumqi. Instead of direct observation, they choose to write music with a finer outline, creating an atmosphere with a unique harmonic vocabulary that allows the listeners to truly sink into the mind of the characters that are described in the lyrics and melodies. You can vent, let your mind fly or simply let your thoughts wander in such a fog.
'Mimik' means facial expression and 'Banka' means bank. Mimik Banka is a place where one can deposit and withdraw emotions. A place to enjoy the unusual power of taking control of how you feel.

來表情銀行充滿後現代詩意的現場，在籠罩著霧氣的城市中遇見。

《一萬種呼嘯而過的方式》不是一個簡單的專輯首發專場。這場演出里不但有新專里的歌，還會精選與重編前兩張專輯《魔王》《乒乓》里的歌，更會首次演出若干從未發表的新歌。這是一個「Best of 表情銀行」專場，是他們自2014年成團以來即將寫下的一個分號「；」

「知音難覓是正常的....沒有必要像寵物一樣遍地打滾，也沒有必要像鬣狗一樣結群吠叫。應該像鯨魚，在深海裡，孤獨地遨遊著，響亮而沈重地呼吸著，波浪翻滾地交配著，血水浩蕩地生產著，與成群結隊的鯊魚，保持著足夠的距離。」

⎾越來越開闊，打消「風格焦慮」⏌，成團初始，表情銀行就決定不要被既有「風格」拴住，這個原則一直維持至今。他們是一支屬於未來的、不斷好奇探索自己邊界的樂隊。他們的音樂大部分以Indie Rock為基底，融合了電子、Dream pop、Trip-hop等各種風格，新專里甚至聽得到爵士和古典的影子。但「風格」從未影響表情銀行自成一派的表達與氣質。

⎾超現實的，Post-Impressionism 後印象派的⏌，這是提到表情銀行容易用到的形容詞。其實表情銀行一直在寫現實，寫他們生活過的城市與城市裡的人，北京、杜塞爾多夫、台北、烏魯木齊。但相較於白描，他們更享受細細勾勒，賦予音符微妙的情緒，在理性與感性的碰撞中疊加精美的和聲與音色。他們音樂里的城市和人籠罩在光怪陸離的薄霧中，你可以在霧中放空，可以在霧中飛行，也可以在霧中思考。

表情銀行是儲存情緒的銀行，同時你也能從那些精心安排的細節里看到他們的理性與縝密。
