Now in its third year, Gallery Weekend Beijing is a culturally cohesive platform that seeks to share cutting-edge contemporary art in Beijing. This exciting venture seeks to eliminate creative limits and to connect Beijing’s artistic potential to the global contemporary art hubs.
The week-long event will feature talks, panel discussions, workshops and much more.
This year's Public Sector includes exciting projects by artists such as Hou Zichao, Franco Mazzucchelli, Qiu Shijie, and Katja Loher whose site-specific installation at The Opposite House will launch The House Collective’s inaugural art programme.
The House Collective by Swire Hotels has announced the launch of its 2019 Art Programme - ‘Encounters Across Cultures’. Over the course of 2019, ‘Encounters Across Cultures’ will celebrate each of the House’s connections to both local and global cultures, with the creation of four unique installations in Beijing, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Shanghai.
The programme will feature Katja Loher, an award-winning multi disciplinary artist from Switzerland whose work incorporates music, dance and costume to explore nature and its interconnected forces. Loher is changing the face of art through her development of ‘videosculptures’, a technique that she will employ at each of the four House Collective properties.
