ORGANIC presents San Soda (We Play House Recordings/MTMU)

ORGANIC is about exploring the deepness, soulfulness and exquisiteness rooted within house and techno music. The party aims to create a special ambience by combining elements of sound, lighting, decor and plant life to bring back that raw aesthetic and emotion that was naturally embedded in the early days of dance music.

SPECIAL GUEST:

San Soda is known in underground music circles as a real record collector. It shows in his predictably unpredictable DJ sets, which are made up of carefully chosen gems unearthed after years of digging. Classic house and techno with a rough, Chicago and Detroit bent is his main preference, interspersed with cheerful disco, enchanting Afro or timeless electro cuts. Preferring extended sets with proper rotary mixers, he is a gimmick free selector who avoids tricks and effects. Instead he allows the music to play out as it was intended, always with an underlying sense of cohesion.

Based in Berlin but Belgian by birth, San Soda spends at least some time every single day searching for records, either online, in shops, at flea markets or by nosing through whole collections. Of course, this eternal hunger for music means he also produces himself, most often with analogue gear of which the Juno 106, MPC 3000 and Space Echo are some of his favourite toys. To date, most of his own creations have come on the We Play House imprint, which was co-founded by him in 2007.

Juhstynn is a regular on the Beijing and China club circuit. Born and raised in the UK, Juhstynn has performed at renowned nightspots such as Manchester’s Sankeys and London’s Pacha, The Egg, and Public Life. He was awarded the Sennheiser prize for Best Music Production Recording when he graduated with a B.A. in Music Management and Studio Production at Bucks New University back in 2009. That same year he also worked at Global Gathering - regarded as one of the UK’s major dance music festivals - and in 2008 he placed runner-up in iDJ Magazine’s Raw Talent Competition, where Nic Fanciulli labeled his DJ mix as “amazing” and “the perfect warm up”. Flexible and open-minded, Juhstynn is a DJ who resists conforming to just one style of music. Eclectically driven and a love for blending old records with new, he continues to cater for the subtlest of situations as well as the most demanding dance floors.

Marc Alexr is a Beijing-based Londoner working in the music industry in China. Back in the UK he regularly DJed at the biggest clubs across the country under his dance music lifestyle brand ‘mudlove’. For ORGANIC, Marc will be playing his selection of contemporary house and classic deep house tracks.
