This state-run hospital has a reputable foreigners' wing with departments including, ENT, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, dental, ophthalmology and OB/GYN. Most doctors are trained overseas and speak good English. Services and medicine are much cheaper than in private clinics, but expect longer waiting times. The birthing unit is considered to be the best in the city in a Chinese hospital, and is popular among expats. The cost of registration is RMB 100-300, depending on the status of the doctor you wish to consult: a physician, assistant professor or university professor. The minimum consultation fee between 4.30pm-8am and on weekends is RMB 200. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card. Direct billing is available with some Asian insurance companies. In-patient services require a minimum deposit of at least RMB 10,000. Fifty beds are set aside for foreigners. Private rooms cost RMB 800-1,500 per day. TCM specialists in massage and acupuncture available daily. On-site pharmacy for Western and TCM medicines. Blood is supplied from an in-house bank stocked with blood donated by volunteers and hospital staff members.
