Museum of Ancient Architecture 古代建筑博物馆

Sure, visiting all the old buildings is nice, but at some point, everyone has that urge to contrast and compare, and that's where the Museum of Ancient Architecture comes in. It lies on the site of the Xiannong Altar, where Qing dynasty emperors performed tilling ceremonies during the lunar Spring equinox. The emperor made offerings at the altar to the mythical first farmer, Shen, then pushed a plow for a few meters before returning to his sedan chair to watch underlings finish the rest. These days it contains a large model of Beijing's old city and exhibits on the capital's traditional architecture.
