Basement Queen is a two-piece rock project consisting of lead vocalist and bassist DJ GU and drummer Wei Zai. Infusing the psychedelic, retro aspects of stoner rock with modern elements like alternative electronic music, Basement Queen pursues a raw and eccentric aesthetic - like a pulp magazine from a post-apocalyptic world or a bizarre character from a surreal mystery novel.

Their debut album, Her Revenge, was released on December 25, 2023. The album features seven tracks that showcase their unique alternative sound, which lays its foundations on fuzz-driven bass grooves. “Join us in the basement and be our queen (drag or not).”

An independent band from Beijing, their music is heavily influenced by psychedelic rock bands like Tame Impala and Altın Gün. Their sound combines a minimalist, retro aesthetic with a foundation of electronic synthesizers, creating a unique indie flavour. Their music has a special way of transporting you to a 1970s Moroccan record shop.

This month's "Tunnel" event we invited the Japanese Techno musician Haruka 。This is a musician who is of great significance to the concept and value pursuit of the "tunnel" label. It was one of Haruka's performances in Chengdu's club TAG. where Mohemann, the manager of "Tunnel," met Haruka. Mohemann couldn't tear himself away from the three-hour performance. In the blurred and dark rhythm, the initial idea of the "tunnel" label gradually became inevitable and finally landed.For the Tunnel's 6th anniversary, we're once again inviting Haruka to take us back into the tightly-woven logic of the vortex.
