Ember Swift returns to School Bar on this evening for a very special showcase show!

Canadian artist Ember Swift is an internationally touring musician and songwriter, and founder of the independent label Few’ll Ignite Sound.

Originally from Toronto, she has spent the past few years making her home base in the magnetic city of Beijing, China. These past three years, Ember and her husband Guo Jian (lead singer of China’s reggae band “Long Shen Dao”) have welcomed two children to their happy family. In January of 2012, Ember gave birth to their daughter and in December of 2013, another baby arrived, this time a boy. This kind of musical family is definitely special. Mom and dad both perform and sing. Perhaps in ten years the world will see the rise of a new cross-cultural family band hailing from Beijing! In 2014, Ember also was invited to participate in the Dragon TV reality show called “Super Diva” and she went straight to the finals, finishing 3rd across the entire nation of China. This fully proves that (even though she is a foreigner) she is also one
of China’s most talented spouses and mothers!

Ember’s band, assembled in Beijing, includes America’s Alix Morris on the drums and France’s Philippe Mege on the bass. Also featured on several songs is China’s Wang Ya Qi on the erhu. They are four people who come from four very different parts of the world but who have chosen Beijing as their current homes proving, once again, that Beijing is truly a global magnet.

Styles include jazz, gypsy, rock, funk, pop, folk and blues as well as lyrics in both languages.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to catch Ember!

Set to open is Kamou, signer for the band The Feeling Trees.

For this installment of the Converse Rubber Tracks X School Bar free show series, hardcore band LaiSee celebrates 3 years together!

LaiSee has come a long way since the foursome played their first show together on December 19, 2013. The band has cut their chops and developed into one of the most exciting live bands in China with constant gigging across Beijing. As the band gained momentum, they've undertaken 4 mini tours across China, played at major music festivals, and this past summer received invitations to play at the prestigious Pentaport festival in South Korea and also the mighty Summer Sonic Music Festival in Japan. LaiSee's carefree attitude and love/enthusiasm for their musical creations is easy to see for any one who catches them on stage, but simultaneously it is their drive and determination that has pushed the band to the forefront of China's music scene over the course of the past 3 years. LaiSee creates their own merchandise, mixes their own tunes, and are always interacting with friends/fans on Weibo/WeChat. This love for music and passion to succeed are what will carve LaiSee's path in the years to come, and undoubtedly lead to bigger and better things for LaiSee in the future.

THE CURTAIN IS ABOUT TO FALL BUT THE FULL MOON STILL SHINES DOWN ON THE WOLF’S LAST FEAST.

The excellent musician KnoR and his Swiss compatriot Mativa kick off their China Tour with their show Borderline Syndrome.

Borderline Syndrome is a unique experience for all senses. You enter a room with interactive projections that reminds you more of your last visit at the museum than a concert venue.

The artists push the limits and take the audience on a trip between audio-visual performance and Electronic music.

Beautiful visuals added to driving techno beats are the promise of an ecstatic build to frenetic dance madness.

It’ll howl and make the walls and floors to tremble: three screens, machines, a spellbinding voice and a captive audience for an immersive, interactive audio-visual show and pleasure of the senses.

Fellow wolves, the moon is on the wane; the curtain has fallen.
