2025 Year-in-Review: New Restaurants & Bars Pt. 2

It has been quite the year for Beijing! In our 2025 Year-in-Review, we're taking a look back at the happenings in the capital from this year that was.

After our part one (of three) Year-in-Review posts of new places that opened up in 2025, we're back with part two! 

Triple B 3B 

Triple B 3B relocated to MIX Island earlier this year, a definite improvement over their previous hole-in-the-wall-style location in the CBD. The menu features their usual a range of burgers, sandwiches and brunch offerings. They've also got milkshakes, coffees, tea, craft beer, wine and soft drinks to sip on.

NASI AH MA in Sanlitun

MULU opened up NASI AH MA in June in Xingfucun, on the same strip as O'Steak. The cozy spot is a Malaysian nasi campur concept where you get rice with an array of sides and your choice of dish from the counter. They also have pre-selected meal combinations available as well as non-nasi dishes like Sarawak Laksa Kway Teow (RMB 48) or Beef Ball Kway Teow Soup (RMB 48).

PIGNUT BARBECUE

PIGNUT BARBECUE opened up near WAB this summer, bringing authentic Texas barbecue to the area. They have classic offerings like pulled pork, beef brisket and spare ribs, along with a range of burgers, tacos, appetizers and sides. Despite only opening this year, they've already become a firm favorite among American BBQ lovers here in Beijing.

WITH 

WITH, short for With Listening Bar, opened up in the 798 Arts District during the summer. It's a craft cocktail bar that has a focus on music, complete with DJ decks where they will regularly have live performances. Aside from cocktails, they've also got beers, wine, coffee and soft drinks.

Chill Since '93

Chill Since '93, an Italian-style café chain closely associated with fashion and clothing brand Brandy Melville, opened its first Beijing branch back in July in Sanlitun Courtyard No.4. As is typical of the chain, they have a range of square Italian pizzas, Italian sandwiches, fresh juice and coffee, and Chill Since '93 merch.

Carbo Pasta Bar

A pasta bar that originally opened in Chongqing, Carbo came this year to the new Friendship Store Complex. Along with a range of excellent handmade pasta, they serve appetizers, salads, Italian desserts and a range of drinks. The space itself is bright and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe and an open kitchen, and there is also some terrace seating out front, making the location perfect during the warmer months.

Dundun Tuntun

Dundun Tuntun is a bistro and bar that opened in Sanlitun during the summer. Hidden just off the busy Taikoo Li West area, the bistro is split into two spaces, with one being a self-serve craft beer bar while the other is a café by day and a cocktail lounge by night. Foodwise, the menu focuses on fusion northwestern Chinese comfort food.

Pub 96

Pub 96 took over the space previously occupied by Chill Bar, formerly known as the Drum and Bell. The space underwent a complete renovation and is now a darts and craft beer bar. They have four electronic dartboards, multiple craft beers on tap and a food menu featuring snacks and other classic bar grub.

D'Addario

Tucked away behind Houhai, Italian restaurant D'Addario opened back in August. The space has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a relatively large main dining area along with some private rooms for more intimate gatherings, plus a small deli section on the right-hand side of the entrance. On the menu, they have a range of delicious Italian offerings, including pasta, homemade pizza, appetizers, main courses and more.

Florence Garden

Another new Italian spot to open up was Florence Garden, which opened at the end of September in Longfusi. Hidden away on the third floor of the East Courtyard Phase II building, it boasts a beautiful, large rooftop terrace and chic indoor dining area. On the menu, they have a range of Italian dishes, including pizza, pasta, mains, starters and desserts.
