Taste Global & Chinese Delights at This Big Food Fest, Sep 6-8

If there’s one plus about living in a capital city it's the opportunity to experience cultures and indulge in foods from all over the world. These two things are the highlight of the upcoming 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Foreign Talents International Food Festival, at which Chinese and global foods and cultures will intermingle all this weekend!

Taking place from Sep 6 to 8 at the Longhui 1910 Cultural and Creative Industry Park in Haidian, the Festival hopes to showcase the open, inclusive cultural atmosphere in Beijing, as well as to highlight the city's liveable and business-friendly environment.

It's a means of welcoming everyone into the Beijing community, and what better way to welcome a friend into the community than to break bread with them? Except at the festival, you can expect a whole lot more than just bread!

Food Galore and Snacks in Store

First things first, there’s going to be a whole bunch of food, from all over the world. Along with this “International Food Street,” there will be a Chinese counterpart showcasing food from all over China, from Beijing to Shanghai and all the way out to Xibei.

All of this will culminate with yet more chances to eat in the evening at the Wanghong Night Market, where from 6pm to 10pm each night of the fest, chuanr, fried treats, and sweets will be up for grabs.

As for drinks, let’s start with two favorites of ours: coffee and beer. Exceptional coffee and beer are available throughout the event thanks to two venues of MAOJIE Arcade, a spot within Longhui: CABO Coffee and Peiping Machine. So, you can start your day with a nice caffeinated beverage within CABO’s South American-inspired venue and keep it going into the afternoon with one of Peiping’s signature brews.

For other beverages, there’s Champagne and wine from France, Chile, and Spain, or, if wine isn’t your thing, whiskey and other, stronger spirits like baijiu.

The Arrangement of Entertainment

There will be smaller activities and happenings going on each day of the festival as well, to add a little more culture into the mix for visitors and participants alike.

Split into Chinese and Western entertainment, with everything from the chance to carve melons to the mischievous antics of Turkish ice cream makers to singing, cocktail-making, and more.

Couple this with classical dance, an art flash mob, a rock climbing challenge, and a few competitions to witness or partake in, and you’ve got a lot to witness over the weekend.

Where It’s All Happening

All of the food, music, drinks, and fun will go down at Longhui 1910 Cultural and Creative Industry Park. Formerly Beijing Longhui Winery, the park has since been converted into both a wine culture dissemination center, a demonstration block for the integration of culture and technology, and a science and technology business exchange center. While Longhui 1910 also has businesses and shops on its grounds, the park’s focus is to not only gather cultural and technological enterprises such as e-sports games, audiovisual media, and creative design, but to expose people to ways of interacting with culture through exhibitions, entertainment, and other art and cultural activities.

The 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Foreign Talents International Food Fest is happening from Fri, Sep 6 to Sun, Sep 8 at Longhui 1910 Cultural and Creative Industry Park (2 Yuquan Lu, Haidian District). Entry is free, but registration is required. You can register by scanning the QR code below.
