Dunhuang: Pearl of the Silk Road
Adventure to China’s northwestern Gansu province and the city of Dunhuang, once one of the most important cities along the Ancient Silk Road and today home to the outstanding oasis of Crescent Lake and the Mogao Grottos.
On this three-day, two-night tour (Feb 12-14), guests will be able to visit the aforementioned Crescent Lake and Mogao Grottos, as well as Echoing-Sand Mountain, the “Devil City”, Dunhuang night market, and the western end of the Great Wall.
The tour price is RMB 2,600/person, RMB 2,500 for VIP members, and RMB 2,400 for Diamond VIP members. Price includes insurance, entrance tickets for the Dunhuang night market and movie set, a three-night stay in a four-star hotel, English-speaking guide, transportation, and three hotel breakfasts. Guilin: Li River and Longji Rice Terraces
The second largest city of Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture, Guilin, like most major Chinese cities, is busy but still quite relaxed given its warm climate and beautiful surroundings. Situated amongst the region’s karst limestone peaks, it’s the perfect getaway for a bit of holiday adventure.
A major highlight of this five-day, four-night (Feb 12-16) tour is a trip along the Li River, which will take participants for a leisurely float among the aforementioned karst peaks to and from Yangshuo. Its scenery has inspired painters for centuries, and it’s even featured on China’s RMB 20 note. Other highlights include visits to Elephant Hill, the Longji Rice Terraces, and cycling on Yangshuo West Street.
The tour price is RMB 2,950/per person, RMB 2,900 for VIP members, and RMB 2,850 for Diamond VIP members. Price includes travel insurance, admission tickets to scenic sites, a four-night stay in a starred hotel, travel by local tour bus, English-speaking guides, and meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner on days two and three; breakfast on day five).
Xishuangbanna: Tropical Flavor and Dai Culture
Xishuangbanna, the Chinese transliteration for the Thai name Sip Sawng Panna, is situated north of Myanmar and Laos in Yunnan province. The area is considered China’s mini-Thailand, replete with elephants, jungles, Southeast Asian-style temples, and colorful culture and food.
On this five-day, four-night tour (from Feb 10-14), participants will be able to visit the royal gardens and temples of the ancient Dai kingdom, meet groups of lovely elephants and peacocks, and of course have plenty of time to gorge on local food and treats in the night markets of Xishuangbanna.
The tour price is RMB 3,800/person, RMB 3,700 for VIP members, and RMB 3,600 for VIP members. Price includes insurance, admission tickets for all attractions, hotels, all meals, private transfers, and local English-speaking guides.
Chongqing: Discover the Mountain City
Situated at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers in southwestern China, Chongqing is the largest municipality in the region. The “mountain city” is home to hilly roads, interesting public transit, spicy food, and a mishmash of vibrant old and new city life.
During this three-day, two-night tour (Feb 12-14), participants will be able to explore daily life in the mountain city, seek out history and culture in Ciqikou Old Town, ride Chongqing’s monorail and the Yangtze River Cableway, and admire the old architecture, views of Hongya Cave, and the religious grottos of Dazu Rock.
The tour price is RMB 2,600/person, RMB 2,550 for VIP members, and RMB 2,500 for Diamond VIP members. Price includes insurance, a three-night stay in a four-star hotel, meals (breakfast and dinner on day one, breakfast on day two, and buffet breakfast on day three), English-speaking guide, and most sites and experiences. Limited to six spots in total.
Yunnan Highlights: Dali, Shangrila, and Lijiang
The land “south of the clouds” is perhaps the most diverse province in all of China. Along with being home to the aforementioned Xishuangbanna and Dai minority, more than half of China’s ethnic minorities call Yunnan home. This mix of cultures has resulted in extraordinary food, and beautiful architecture, all nestled amongst the most striking scenery in the country.
On this seven-day, six-night tour (Feb 10-16), participants will visit Yunnan’s top three destinations: Dali, Shangrila, and Lijiang. Sights like Erhai Lake, Tiger Leaping Gorge, and others like Dali Old Town, Xizhou Old Town, and temples and other sights are in store. Plus the chance to try all the culinary delicacies the province has to offer.
The tour price is RMB 6,600/person, RMB 6,500 for VIP members, and RMB 6,400 for Diamond VIP members. Includes insurance, six-night accommodation with breakfast, transportation, admission tickets, and two bottles of water per day per person.
