A Few Last Minute Xmas Markets and a Bar Crawl

It’s only five days until Christmas, so if you’ve left all your gift shopping until the last minute, now’s the time to do it! Thankfully, there are a few markets happening this weekend to meet the need, one of which coincides with an Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl on Saturday (Dec 23).

Even if you’ve already gotten all of your gifts, these shindigs are sure to be a fun way to spend Christmas weekend in Beijing. Find out more below.

Christmas Wonderland at Kempinski

Kempinski Hotel Beijing at Lufthansa Center has turned the outdoor Beer Garden at Paulaner Bräuhaus into an all out wonderland for the holiday season. Over ten German-style chalets await guests, each with different Christmas treats and specialties inside, from waffles to Glühwein and more. The festivities continue indoors, with Kemp Deli churning out more treats. Expect Christmas chocolates, cakes and cookies, homemade stollen, and drinks like Eggnog Vanilla and of course more Glühwein.

The Christmas Wonderland at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center is happening every day until Dec 25, from 4-9pm each day. Entry is free.


BURO.KORI Christmas Market

The BURO.KORI Christmas Market has a bit more of an indie market with vintage chic in mind vibe. Find everything from vintage clothes to jewelry to all kinds of art and more, plus art that you can use on the daily, like specialty phone cases and other stuff like that.

The BURO.KORI Christmas Market is happening from Saturday, Dec 23 to Sunday, Dec 24 from noon-6pm each day at the Grand Summit in Liangmaqiao. Entry is free. Read more about the market and check out the vendors taking part in this post.


Woodstock of Eating Winter Market

Taking place at Sanlitun Courtyard No. 4, this market will have vendors coming from all over China to sell their wares, like knitted clothes from Shanghai, specialty books, music, and more.

Woodstock of Eating’s Winter Market is happening from Friday, Dec 22 ‘til Sunday, Dec 24 (1-10pm on Dec 22 and 24; 1pm-midnight on Dec 23) as well as Saturday, Dec 30 ‘til Monday, Jan 1 (1-10pm on Dec 30 and Jan 1; 1pm-midnight on Dec 31) in Sanlitun Courtyard No. 4. The Golden Weasel’s First Xmas Art Market

Beiluo bar the Golden Weasel is hosting their first ever Christmas art market. Spanning two days, you can expect works and crafts by artists from across Beijing, all coming to Huayuan Hutong for a true exploration of the city’s art scene.

The Golden Weasel’s Xmas Art Market is happening on Saturday, Dec 23 and Sunday, Dec 24 from 1.30-5.30pm each day at the Golden Weasel. Entry is free.


The Factory x Rumble in the Jumble Xmas Market + Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl

After a few successful weekends of hosting their first ever Gulou Christmas Market, The Factory has teamed up with Rumble in the Jumble to present Santa’s Sunny Paradise, a pop-up market and bazaar for all your last minute Christmas shopping paired with food, DJ sets, mulled wine, and another visit from Santa Claus. It’ll get you in the Christmas mood while transporting you to warmer climates (in spirit, at least).

The market coincides with an Ugly Christmas Sweater Hutong Bar Crawl. Hitting up five Gulou bars (with The Factory being one of the longer stops on the crawl), the crawl promises to be a fun and lively way to spend Christmas in the capital. Be sure to wear your ugliest Christmas sweater to unlock special drink discounts and surprises throughout the event!
