On the Radar: New Menus at Dastaan, George’s at Hotel Éclat Beijing + More
New restaurants, dining deals, drinks discounts, guest shifts, pop-ups, and more happenings on our radar this week.
George’s at Hotel Éclat Beijing (lead image) reopens with three new set menus, Dastaan adds Indian street food and more to the menu, plus El Nido and Iberico expand around Beijing.
George’s Restaurant Gets a Revamp
If you’re one for art, Hotel Éclat at Parkview Green Mall is a must visit. If you’re not looking for a staycation, then lunch and dinner at their recently reopened George’s Restaurant – which has gotten a revamp with three new set menus – will definitely do.
The sets consist of Chef Ray’s Signature Menu (RMB 1,288 for six courses), George’s Caviar Menu (RMB 988 for five courses), and the Pop Art Menu (RMB 888 for six courses). All dishes within the three menus can be mixed and matched, or purchased a la carte as well.
Must tries include the Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallop (RMB 288), which comes accompanied by purple cauliflower spread, sturgeon caviar, and other fixings; and, a fan favorite, the Signature Dry Aged 7-Day “LongJiang” Beef Tartare (RMB 268), prepared tableside with horseradish cream, traditional condiments, and, most interestingly, your choice of Cognac or vodka.

Dastaan's New Menu Has Street Eats, Vegan Options, and More
Ask anyone in the capital what the best place for Indian is, and the answer will more likely than not be Dastaan. Now there’s even more reason to like Dastaan, as Chef Rabiul has completely overhauled the menu.
While many classics – including Rabiul’s amazing Old Delhi Butter Chicken – remain on the menu, there’s a whole bunch of new additions that have earned a permanent spot on the food roster after popping up during Dastaan’s numerous promotions of regional and specialty Indian cuisine.
There’s everything from new snacks like Dahi Puri (RMB 48, eight crispy fried puffs stuffed with mashed potatoes, yogurt, and mint chutney) to Kali Mirch Ka Chicken Wings (RMB 78, tandoori wings, nuff said), Indian street food, a selection of vegan-friendly options, and even a Whole Roasted Tandoori Chicken (RMB 248, must order 24 hours in advance) that’s enough to feed three!

Iberico by TRB Opens Second Location by the Liangma River
Finally, TRB is back in action as they expand their Spanish concept Iberico to its second location, this time right by the Liangma River. The new venue offers great waterfront views, with a menu orchestrated under the watchful eyes of Chef Luis Wei, who brings years of experience from both a Black Pearl 2 Diamond Spanish restaurant and the TRB Group. The new location will also offer select dishes from Fork by TRB, marking an interesting combination with the main menu of Spanish offerings.
