Get Your American Chinese Food Fix at This New Sanyuanqiao Restaurant

Chinese takeout has arrived in the capital – and no, we don’t mean waimai, but cuisine of the American Chinese variety. Everything from Crab Rangoon to General Tso’s to Egg Fooyoung now has a one-stop shop in Sanyuanqiao.

The “Chinese” food popularized by the likes of Panda Express and PF Chang’s has a new home at Bamboo Chinese Fast Food. And Slider Nation owner Henry, whose own shop isn't too far from the new takeout joint, tells us it’s just like the Aforementioned Panda Express in all its greasy Americanized glory.

Henry, who first brought the shop to our attention, recommends the General Chicken, Sesame Orange Chicken (RMB 30), and Egg Fooyoung (RMB 18), adding "but come on, they got some of the old heavy hitters we're used to back home like Chow Mien and Crab Rangoon with the neon red sweet and sour sauce... it's just downright Americanized Chinese food that hits the nostalgia button in a good way."

Plus, it’s reasonably priced to boot. An order of General Tso’s, which at Bamboo is called General Chicken, will set you back RMB 28, while a plate of Crab Rangoon is only RMB 18.

What’s more, they’ve got combo meals. There’s the Minister Combo for RMB 24 and the General Chicken Combo for RMB 23, with both appearing to feature meat, rice, and veggies.

The shop just opened next to Slider Nation’s Sanyuanqiao branch, up on the third floor of 9th Food Street on Xiaoyun Lu (霄云路食九局). So if you’ve been hankering for some Crab Rangoon (and a fortune cookie!) or other such delicacies from the US of A, then now’s your chance.
