Ch-Ch-Changes Come to Sanlitun Taikooli Complex

A few days ago we got word in our Sanlitun specific WeChat group that a number of spots in the Taikooli shopping complex had closed without prior notice.

For the original Taikooli complex, aka Taikooli South, closures haven’t amounted to much, with the only spot of note having shut being the sporting goods store that was directly underneath Blue Frog’s Sanlitun branch. Now it’s been replaced by a big blank green slate (see the image below).

Other changes have been taking place in Taikooli North, with Starbucks and Baker & Spice having shut their locations in that complex. What stands in their place is a massive cover featuring “Genesis: The Awakened Warrior” with “Renzhe Studio” underneath.

Perhaps a sign of what’s to come?

Along with these closures comes a bit of good news: winter sporting goods brand Salmon have opened a shop on the east side of Taikooli South – just in time for skiing season.
