Beijing's Best Places for Learning Dance
Hitting a fitness plateau and don’t know what else you can do to level up your fitness game? Perhaps you can try dancing. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy a workout that doesn’t feel like a workout? When it comes to dancing, it doesn’t really matter what your age is, what size you are, or what kinds of limitations you have, once you start moving, there’s no turning back. Below is a list of some of the capital’s favorite dance classes that will get you grooving from the first class.
N.B Salsa Social Club
N.B Salsa club was founded in 2003 in South Korea and then came to China in 2005, where it settled in the Chaoyangmen area in 2020. The club offers a range of classes based on your skill level, from beginner to advanced. If you're completely new to dancing, you can choose to take the beginners dance class, which will teach you some of the basic steps such as left turns, right turns, inside turns and outside walks.
For people who struggle with coordination and are stiff on the dance floor, their body movement class will really help you with your flexibility. The club recently resumed their performance classes that will teach you specific choreography.

Balboa Swing
Balboa, which originated in Southern California, is a type of swing dance. The class at Balboa Swing is more than just your average dance class. It is also a unique experience that will teach you about the emotional connection between you and your dancing partner.
The class here pushes you to express your true self with a little bit of freestyle dance. You may start with a slower pace as a beginner, however, with more practice, you’ll be on the road to dance to some really upbeat music that has a faster beat.
AS Tango Argentina Tango School
Tango dancing was first introduced to China in 1930s, but it didn't really take off in the country 'til the 1980s and has continually evolved through the years.
AS Tango has award-winning instructors who will really make you fall in love with tango. Plus, for those who are hoping to perfect their choreography skills, AS Tango offers many classes for you to put a dance move on loop until you can master it. At the end of the class, they even offer you a video of your time, allowing you to watch yourself in your free time to see where you can improve.

W Latin Studio
W Latin Studio make even the most difficult dance routines doable. Come and learn some easy steps from Spanish instructor William who specializes in Bachata, a Latin dance that originated in the Dominican Republic that is now danced all over the world!
The studio focuses on partner work and students will be able to dance with multiple dancing partners to learn different techniques to get them moving on the dance floor! “We want students to have fun in social dance parties and make them confident in both their leading and following skills,” said William. “We have been to many events together and I am so proud of the tight-knit family we created.”
