Building of New 200,000 sqm Hospital in Chaoyang District Nears Completion: the East Branch of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital will soon be completed and put into use, reports 朝阳通. The hospital is located in eastern Chaoyang and has been built to service the people of Beijing along with neighboring Tianjin and Hebei.  The hospital will have approximately 1,000 beds and medical facilities will include inpatient units, an outpatient unit, an emergency unit, operating theaters, an intensive care unit and a teaching complex. 

Coffee Shop Chain Elephant Grounds Closes Their Beijing Store: Popular coffee shop Elephant Grounds announced via their official WeChat account that they would be closing their Taikooli store on Aug 22. The Hong Kong-based coffee chain cited difficulties due to Covid for the closure of their Beijing store, which had been open for three years. Although they're closing their Beijing store, Elephant Grounds still have locations in Guangzhou and Chengdu, as well as multiple stores in Hong Kong.

China-Portugal Film Exhibition Kicks Off in Beijing: Yesterday (Aug 26) the China National Film Museum's first international film exhibition of 2022, Films of Portugal, began in Beijing. There will be six feature films and one documentary screened during the exhibition at the museum’s theaters. According to the Global Times, the exhibition will feature some classic Portuguese films such as the 1963 film The Green Years as well as more modern films like the 2022 film Km 224. The film exhibition will run until Sep 11.  

The Bulk House Announces Closure of Their Physical Shop: zero-waste store The Bulk House is being forced to close the doors of their brick and mortar shop on Beiluoguxiang on Sep 17 according to an announcement on their official WeChat account. This is the third time that The Bulk House have had to close their physical shop since the company was founded in 2017. From now on they will be moving to an online store only and you can find them on Taobao, their WeChat Mini Program and Weidian. 

Beijing Water Town to Roll out "Immersive Autumn Experience": Beijing Water Town in Miyun District is set to launch a series of “autumn fun programs” from Sep 1 to Oct 31 according to China Daily. Activities will include an autumn themed fair, mooncake making, paper lantern floating, dining experiences and more. A popular hot spring spot, the colorful leaves covering the mountains make Beijing Water Town a perfect spot to visit during autumn.
