This week it's time for dining discounts, with the city doling out dining coupons to major waimai platforms worth a grand total of RMB 100 million, with the aim to spur dining consumption and to help restaurants have a speedy recovery amid recent Covid woes.

These coupons will be available to consumers from 10 am to 11.59pm each day from now until Aug 16.

There are two kinds of coupons for consumers to choose from, one is an RMB 15 coupon (which can be used on orders of over RMB 50), and the other is an RMB 30 coupon (for orders over RMB 100). For instance, when consumers place an order that exceeds RMB 100, they'll be able to get RMB 30 deduction using the coupons.

However, you may want to act fast in order to get your coupons because many of these coupons won't stick around for a long time. When we logged on to Meituan at around 10.30am, all the coupons for the day had already run out. So, it's best to get these coupons as soon as possible once they are available every morning at 10am, as it's first come, first serve.

How can you get your coupons?

These coupons will be available on delivery apps including Eleme and Meituan. Here’s how to get them.

On Eleme.

Open Eleme app and search 北京消费券 Běijīng xiāofèi quàn.

Then it will take you to the page for the coupons.

Once you claim it, you can find them under the bar that reads 我的 Wǒ de, then, all you have to do is to click on 去使用 Qù shǐyòng, and you're all set to use your coupon for the day.

On Meituan

Open Meituan. On the main page, search for 北京餐饮消费券 Běijīng cānyǐn xiāofèi quàn.

Click on it and it'll take you to the page to claim your coupons.

Once you claim it, you can find them under the bar that reads 我的 Wǒde, then, all you have to do is to click on 去使用 Qù shǐyòng，and, once again, you're all set.
