Three Beijing Parks That Are Ideal for Exercise
Spring has finally sprung in the capital. And yet, over the past few days, no doubt influenced by anti-epidemic policies, many picnic areas have been temporarily closed. However, if you feel like getting a morning jogging or exercise done outside during the holiday (and after), here are some of the best spots to stretch your muscles in the warmer weather.
Dongba Country Park
This is one of biggest parks in northeast side of Chaoyang and it has plenty of places for you to run around. Go here for a jog alongside the lake, after which you can catch your breath on one of the park's many lawns while catching a glimpse of the last peach blossoms of the season.
Beijing Wenyu River Park
This lesser-known spot residing on the border of Chaoyang and Shunyi boasts sweeping views of wetlands, lakes, flowers, and reeds, making it an ideal spot for distance running.
Even if you are not feeling up for a run along the trails, you can just walk or even hop on a bike, and when you are tired, you can rest upon the lawns where it makes you feel like you’ve just walked into a no-man’s land!
Haidian Park
With a running path that's about 800 meters around, Haidian Park is one of the best places around to get a long jaunt in.
This park looks a bit like a wetland, with a small lake where you can spot wild ducks and big carp swimming around. It's the perfect spot to relax a bit and listen to birds chirping and frogs croaking in spring time.
