EAT: New Autumn Menus, Nuo Hotel Launches Brunner, VegFest Beijing
EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.
Tuscan feast at Frasca
Follow Frasca to Tuscany for a feast of hearty autumn flavors. Their new five-course regional menu features dishes like chicken liver pâté with capers and balsamic vinegar, ravioli stuffed with potato and pecorino cheese, and traditional almond biscotti with Vin Santo cream paired with two red and white wines from organic winery Col d'Orcia in Montalcino, which is located in the heart of Tuscany.
Moka Bros launches autumn/winter menu
Settle into the cooler weather at Moka Bros with their new autumn/winter menu, which puts an emphasis on soupy dishes, flavorful protein and colorful root veg, as well as spicy flavors. You can now expect more premium dishes such as South American seafood stew with prawns, mussels, and more in a light curried sauce; or the Surf and Turf, with beef tenderloin and Thai tiger prawn in a Sichaun pepper-chili sauce. Many of their dishes, such as the updated Buddha Bowl with avocado, kimchi, and cauliflower, are now available in a small size, perfect for those with smaller appetites or who want to share a few different dishes with friends. They also have a new line of house-made yogurts, including a healthy version with berries and avocado and a more indulgent version with chocolate sauce and crushed oreos.
Nuo Hotel Beijing launches new "Brunner"
Nuo's renowned brunch, long the site of many an indulgent Sunday, has been elevated to "Brunner," offering you what amounts to a whole day of eating and drinking — hence brunner — aka brunch, lunch, and dinner. The day starts with a new addition, a welcome cocktail at the Lobby Lounge from 11am-noon, followed by brunch at N'Joy until 3pm, which brings back all the indulgent spectacle we've come to expect from these guys, including caviar, fresh seafood on ice, and international pass-round dishes like chicken tikka and lamb pulao. Things then move on to O'Bar, where they are offering free-flow packages from 3-5pm including free-flow Champagne for RMB 388 per person or free-flow sparkling wine for RMB 288. The welcome drink and brunch with food only is priced at RMB 488.
