EAT: Georgia's Feast Moving Party, Smash Burgers at Slow Boat Maizidian, Hulu Halloween Menu
EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.
Slow Boat launches new smash burger at Maizidian Brewpub
In the wake of their strong showing in this year's Burger Cup, Slow Boat has launched a brand-new Oklahoma-style smash burger, available exclusively at their Maizidian Brewpub. Slow Boat's take on the smash burger includes two crisp all-beef patties, two slices of Wisconsin cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, and a thin layer of yellow mustard. Even better, every Wednesday until the end of the year, the Okie Double Smash Burger is buy-one-get-one-free, or just RMB 70 for two burgers (with the purchase of any two drinks).
Georgia's Feast to close Liangmaqiao location, Oct 31
Georgia's Feast is bidding farewell to their Liangmaqiao location this weekend and moving to a new one (location to be announced, we'll keep you posted) so, of course, they're celebrating with a big party. On Oct 30 and 31, enjoy a free shot of vodka to toast to their future success when you arrive at the restaurant, or stick around until 8pm to take advantage of deals on different spirits, every hour on the hour.
If you'd rather see out the restaurant's final days with a few of their signature dishes, head over during lunchtime (11am-3pm) for the Georgia's Tribute Set, a celebration of Georgian cuisine including ajapsandali (eggplant stew), chkmeruli (chicken cooked in garlic sauce), lamb shashlik, and mini khacapuri (basically a bread boat filled with cheese and egg, if you haven't tried it, go just for this). At RMB 98, the menu is a real steal.
Meat me at Mosto, every Wednesday
Meet Mosto's newest Wednesday night deal, “Meat Me at Mosto." Every Wednesday enjoy a free bottle of house wine with any purchase of a red meat main. Choose from favorites like rib eye, beef tenderloin, and lamb chops. There is no limit on this deal so if you order three tenderloins, you receive three bottles of wine (feel free to take home what you don't drink – if there's any left!).
Halloween-themed dining at Hulu
We always love a holiday-themed menu, especially when it's as fun and creative as the items Hulu have conjured for their Spectacularly Spooky Halloween. From deviled eggs topped with creepy critters to gravlax rolls shaped like fingers and bat wings (don't worry, they're actually chicken wings colored with squid ink), brave diners can expect to encounter plenty of spooky treats and creatures like skeletons, vampires, and ghosts. While we're sure this menu will be a hit with kids, adults aren't left out either with Halloween-themed cocktails like the I Put a Spell On You, a negroni served in a smoking skull. The menu is available at Hulu Sanlitun, Indigo, and the branch next to WAB from Oct 24 to Nov 1.
