Never Get Into an Argument About What to Order Again at Café Ruhe

As soon as you open the menu at Café Ruhe you'll be blown away by the sheer variety. From morning to night, whatever cuisine you like – Chinese, German, American, Thai, Korean – they have it all! Friends or couples no longer need to fight over where to eat or what to order.

Knives and forks (and chopsticks) at the ready: let’s dig in!

USA: Saucy hamburgers and barbecue pork ribs

Café Ruhe's ribs are carefully seasoned before being covered with thick barbecue sauce when they are put into a special oven for grilling. This cooking method leaves them fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor, perfect with a serving of potato wedges!

Another all-American star is Café Ruhe's juicy beef burger. This is one of the juiciest burgers you'll ever eat – smash it down before eating and see the juices literally run out almost like a soup dumpling.

The burger patties are handmade from Australian beef, seasoned with pepper and salt before being grilled, and even the buns are 100 percent handmade. This is a burger that's all about the details, right down to the thin smear of butter that goes on the bread before serving to bring out the toasty flavor of the bread.

Germany: Super meaty sausages and roast pork knuckle

Each pork knuckle weighs at least 1.5 kg each, enough for 4-6 people. Don’t forget to order one day in advance, because only three are made each day.

The pork knuckles are soaked in German beer for 24 hours before being put into a steaming 180 degrees Celsius oven, first at a low temperature to tenderize it and then at a high temperature to make the skin crispy. The process is very complex and highly technical and the oven cost more than RMB 100,000.

There is nothing better than the combination of juicy, tender meat and crunchy, salty skin. There are also sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and other side dishes to go with the pork knuckle.

Where there is German cuisine, a sausage platter is never far away. Café Ruhe's platter features five different types of German sausages, along with huge helpings of sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.

Mexico: Crispy shrimp tacos

This famous Mexican dish has been modified by Café Ruhe's chef to please Chinese taste buds, combining Mexican corn tortillas with grilled tiger prawns, as well as a pile of plentiful fillings.

Make sure to hold everything together and eat each taco in one bite in order to fully experience the wonderful clash of shrimp, avocado, salsa, sour cream, and Mexican salad dressing.

Mexican beef quesadillas are the perfect dish to share. Shredded grilled beef is mixed with sliced onion, cheese, and fried mushrooms, all wrapped in tortillas.

Italy: Seafood spaghetti

At first glance, you might think that this is a bowl of braised seafood. There are shrimps, mussels, clams, and squid in an aromatic tomato sauce, as well as a generous serving of spaghetti.

Alternatively, order a bowl of warming Italian-style rice with red wine-braised beef. Big chunks of tender red wine-braised beef, carrots, and onions, are all mixed with rice and covered with melted cheese.

China: Pork chop rice and special meat and seafood congee

Café Ruhe's chef is from Taiwan, so the Taiwanese fried pork chop with braised pork rice is also worth trying. The minced pork is made on-site according to the chef's own recipe and is served together with spiced tofu, egg, and seaweed for a really authentic Taiwanese taste. The pork chop is first seasoned and then fried, the perfect crispy complement to the rice.

The special meat and seafood congee's delicious aroma is evident as soon as it hits the table. Café Ruhe adds chunks of century egg that are much more generous than in other restaurants around town, and is served alongside shrimp, squid, and pork.

Time for late-night snacks

When night falls, the time for snacks, drinks, chats, and parties begins. Café Ruhe has prepared special snack combos to sooth empty stomachs at night, available every day from 9.30pm to 1am.

Try Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken with Taiwanese sausage and crispy fried tofu. If you're a fan of American food, you can choose Buffalo wings and fried calamari.

There are snack combos from five countries to choose from, as well as a wide selection of cocktails, beer, and other drinks to get your party started.
