Nov 23: Cocktails for cat tails and new vegan burger launch at Side Street
After its first successful event back in March, “Cocktails for Cat Tails" is back to help raise funds for the city's rescue cats. For the cause, Side Street will launch two new vegan burgers on Saturday, with all proceeds going to support a TNR (trap, neuter, return) project in Dongzhimen. The two new burgers include the Beet It, made with slow-cooked roots (beetroot, carrots, potatoes) paired with a spicy crunchy peanut mustard sauce, and a sweet potato and quinoa burger with crispy sweet and sour shiitake mushrooms. There will also be live music performed by WAB students. Tickets for the event are priced at RMB 110 including a cocktail or RMB 160 including a cocktail and a burger – visit the event listing and scan the QR code on the poster to register.
Nov 27: The Roots turns five
Yizhuang restaurant The Roots turns five and they are celebrating with a party on Nov 27. Judging by the more than 3,000 rave reviews on Dianping, it's no wonder that The Roots has made it this far, building a dedicated following for its healthy, organic Western fare, which quite frankly we wish we had more access to. The anniversary party, which will feature stuffed turkey, Mediterranean barbecue, cheese fondue, and plenty of draft beer, is limited to 60 people. Visit this WeChat post for more details about how to register for the big night.
