Beijingers turned out in their thousands for the extravaganza that was the ninth Beijing Burger Festival this weekend. With clear skies and low pollution throughout, Galaxy Soho witnessed record numbers of people on the hunt for new sizzling experiences and a packed house of vendors; some familiar and some new, as well as a full line-up of entertainment. The event was made even more special with a first: a proposal on stage and a couple sealing their new life together over their shared love of burgers. Congratulations to them!

As you know, the festival only marks the beginning of a month of fierce competition between the city's 120 burger vendors in our 2019 Burger Cup. Voting is already underway, with the first round now open for voting, and the first cull of the pool down to just 32 hopefuls set to occur on Friday. That gives you a week to digest any that you tried over the weekend as well as some time to try any that have been on your burger bucket list.
