Maovember Fun Continues With Caravan's Mao’roccan Thanksgiving, Hutong Pub Crawl, and Matchmaking
The Maovember good times keep on rolling throughout this week with a number of events that are not only fun but also far-ranging.
You can get in on the fundraising action tonight at 9pm at Q Mex, which is hosting its fifth annual charity quiz. There's an optional RMB 100 entry fee that'll get you two pitchers of Carlsberg, the proceeds for which will be dedicated to this year's Maovember recipients: Bread of Life Bakery and the LIbrary Project.
Probably the most unique event of the entire month-long charity campaign is slated for Thursday, Nov 22 at 6pm and 8.30pm: Caravan's Mao’roccan Thanksgiving. This creative Moroccan spin on the time-honored American tradition is comprised of a Harvest salad, smoked cranberry butter squash soup, turkey platter and Bread of Life carrot cake (RMB 150 advance, RMB 200 at the door).
Then, on the weekend, hutong stalwart Cafe de la Poste will partake in not one but two Maovember events. The first: a hutong pub crawl for which the French restaurant has teamed up with neighbors Side Street and The Great Outdoors. For an RMB 100 entry fee, you'll be given a drink and a snack at each bar. Half of the money raised will be donated to Maovember.
Lastly, all you lucky singles out there can make your way back to Cafe de la Poste on Sunday to seek out your dream date at a matchmaking event (details are still being finalized).
It all amounts to a range of activities that will appeal to Beijingers of all stripes, especially anyone looking to chip in for a good cause. For more information, check out the Maovember events page here.
