Hitmakerchinx
What will be the next big trend to dominate dancefloors? A solid case could be made for the ever sizzling new Flex Dance Music (FDM) movement, an unvarnished new genre of dance music that specifically caters to those in the dance battle scene. Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Hitmakerchinx is one of the most popular names in the genre, and there's little wonder why. His Soundcloud features tracks that are textured and creative enough to appeal to discerning listeners, but also catchy and colorful enough to get the general masses hooked as well. Highlights include "Ultra Instinct," a galvanizing dancehall anthem with a futuristic twist courtesy of space-age synths, and "Bape Jedi," a more low-key, hypnotic cut with a dash of jolting 808 jabs sprinkled in for good measure. RMB 80. 10pm. Dada

Tujamo
Steve Aoki cohort Tujamo and is known for his electro-house, earworm-y productions. The German producer broke through in 2013 with his solo hit “Dr. Who!” and has since worked with Aoki and other well-known DJs like Chris Lake. RMB 120. 10pm. One Third

TechNorules
Beijing's favorite female empowering DJ crew is back for a night of pulsing, dance-inspiring techno rhythms. Music comes courtesy of TechNorules co-founders Xenia and Aida (who you can check out our prior interview with here). Free. 10pm. Aurora

Silent Disco
How might it feel to step onto a dancefloor where not a note of music can be heard, yet the throng is dancing enthusiastically anyway? Of course that all changes once you strap on a pair of headphones and get in on the silent disco action. This fun and off-beat party will feature music from future wave and kawaii bass artist DJ Heki, bass and beats artist X4M, jungle, drum and bass and grime artist Tsunami, and '80s artist DozoDon. For a glimpse of what all the fun might look like, check the lead image above or read this fun essay about the rise of silent discos. RMB 80, RMB 60 (advance). 9.30pm. Yue Space

Frau
This Melbourne-born, Shanghai-based DJ also has many other irons in the fire, from heading up a Pearl City wine club that eschews pretentiousness in favor of fun and flavor, to founding the now-defunct Smash nightclub. He prides himself delivering gimmick-free, to-the-point sets for clubgoers looking to dig into infectiously catchy beats and dance the night away. Check out our recent interview with him here. RMB 60. 10.30pm. Zhou Dai
Saturday, Jul 21

Broken Eng. Club, Batu
British techno vet Oliver Ho takes to Dada's DJ booth under his Broken Eng. Club live alias. Check out his "The Hydra Mix," on Soundcloud to get a taste of his high-energy, richly-textured instrumentals. The lineup is rounded out by burgeoning bass music producer Batu, along with local DJ extraordinaire Punx (of Prajnasonic fame). RMB 100, RMB 80 (advance). 10pm. Dada

Tripeo
This hard-hitting Dutch producer and DJ crafts beats that are dark, dense, and endlessly danceable. Also known as Darko Esser, he has been slowly but steadily making a name for himself in his homeland, thanks in part to his own Wolfskuil Records imprint. To get a primer before his Lantern set, check out the murky and menacing "The Leap." RMB 80, RMB 50 (advance). 10.30pm. Lantern
