Volunteers to Help Make the 2017 Pizza Fest a Success!
We're looking to recruit 40 upbeat and active individuals to help with our upcoming Pizza Fest (Sep 16-17). Consider it the perfect opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how we pull off some of the city’s best food festivals. Volunteer's responsibilities will include manning the entrances at the festival grounds, helping supervise shuttle buses coming to the venue, managing various entertainment/activity booths, and wearing carnival attire (mascot costumes). What you’ll get in return is valuable work experience with the Beijinger’s events team, a stipend per day, pizza (of course!), and free access to the Beijinger 2018 events. Sports Desk of Xinhua News Agency Recruiting Native English Speakers
Love talking 'bout sports? Xinhua News Agency is recruiting native English speakers for full-time positions in their sports department. Duties will include editing social media posts for Xinhua Sports accounts on various platforms. Occasional editing of news copy written both by local Chinese staff and freelancers from Xinhua’s various overseas bureaus in Europe, Africa, and the Americas will also be required. Social media editors will also be given frequent chances to do field reporting at a variety of sporting events, including live broadcasting. Ideal candidates will possess excellent writing skills, a keen eye for editing, the ability to work against deadlines, and flexibility to work odd hours and weekends when necessary.
Intern at the China Thinkers Bureau
As part of the International Affairs Department, you'll be tasked with helping to source speakers from a pool of erudite, global thinkers to speak to China's business community, academia, government leaders, and everyday consumers. Speakers for whom the China Thinkers Bureau have previously arranged to speak include economists, investors, futurists, scientists, former politicians, and Nobel Prize winners, and include people such as Peter Thiel (founder of PayPal), Kevin Kelly (Wired Magazine co-founder), Richard Foster (Emeritus Director of McKinsey & Company, Inc.) and Justine Cassell (Associate Dean in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University), among others. This intern's role is one that would change and shift with the company's direction. It is an exciting opportunity and a great chance to kick off a career in China or simply observe what Beijing has to offer.
Models Needed for Shoot
This company is interested in hiring models – both amateur and professional between the ages of 17 to 69 – for an editorial project. Models won't be asked to travel outside of the city and shooting will take place mostly on weekends and occasionally on weekdays. Any nationality is fine, all you need to do is supply five suitable photos.
