2nd Annual 'Gaming Industry Future' Summit and Golden Pigeon Awards
This Chinese-language event is a summit to look at emerging trends in the gaming industry, including new virtual reality products and live gaming as break-out market segments. Participants will look at how to foster the healthy development of the industry and look at the impact of new trends on game development. The event is sponsored by Game Daily. Hemp Village to Jinshanling Great Wall East
Hike off your Christmas calories on a walk to and through Hemp Village, an isolated settlement in the hills on the border of Beijing and Hebei Province on the way up to the stretch of wall that lies between Gubeikou and Jinshanling with Beijing Hikers. We’ll follow a narrow trail alongside the wall before passing through an archway to get on to the wall at Jinshanling, a partially-restored stretch with many intact and closely-spaced towers. After hiking on the wall at Jinshanling, we’ll head to a local restaurant for a meal of Chinese food before the drive back to the city. RMB 480, RMB 430 (members). 8.30am-6pm. Beijing Hikers
British National Symphony Orchestra in Concert
The British National Symphony Orchestra will appear at the Great Hall of the People, playing a programme of classics by Strauss, Glinka, and Dvorak. The program features several famous Strauss waltzes, including the Blue Danube, selections from Die Fledermaus, and other works of the 18th and 19th century. RMB 280-680 (tickets here). 7.30-10pm. KHL Hockey in Beijing with the Kunlun Red Star
Come out and watch the excitement of KHL Hockey with Beijing Kunlun Red Star, who in their first season are already turning heads because their great play on the ice. The Red Star is made up of players from China, Russia, Finland, Canada, Sweden, the USA, and Slovakia. 5.30-7.30pm. LeSports Center (Wukesong Arena)

CBA: Beijing Ducks vs. Shandong Golden Stars (pictured at the top)
After a two-game road trip, our hometown Ducks return to Wukesong to play the last game of the calendar year against the Shandong Golden Stars. Shandong is buoyed by former NBA players Jason Thompson and Norris Cole (both averaging roughly 20-points a piece). Get your tickets here. 7.35-10pm. LeSports Center (Wukesong Arena)
