Fete de la Music Brings a Day of Cross Cultural Music Exchange to Beijing, Jun 19 and 20
Fete de la Musique Beijing, also known as World Music Day, has been held every summer in Beijing since 2012. Its mission is to bring people together to celebrate the cultural exchange brought about by music because as we all know, there’s nothing better than thrashing in unison to some great music with your besties, an assertion that we're pretty sure has been proven by science.
What we're very sure of is that there has been a shortage of citywide celebrations art and culture this year due to the lack of JUE. Luckily, it seems like Fete de la Musique is picking up some of the slack with an ambitious schedule of music from a variety genres that are sure to shake a tail feather for those with even the most finicky taste in music.
This year, the organizers have put together a great lineup of 17 bands and musicians from France and China for this epic two-day (Jun 19 and 21) event of music appreciation. Hailing from France is Smokey Joe & The Kid, Marie Madeleine, Bon Voyage Organization, and Success, while local acts like The Big Wave, Chui Wan, and Glow Curve are sure to also be a large draw.
Check out their website for ticket in- ... Oh, wait all of these shows are free, which means you have no excuse for not checking out this lengthy list of quality acts. For more info on times and venues, head over to the event website, or over to our event listing here. Brace yourself, because some highly rambunctious musical mayhem is bound to ensue!
