Spring Forward at the Migas Rooftop Opening with Djuma Soundsystem, Apr 22-23

Some people say the start of spring is when the catkins begin to fall, some say it’s the return of Great Leap’s annual Chili Cook-Off or the Shuangjing Block Party, but we say it’s the Migas rooftop opening.

As usual, they have a huge weekend planned for April 22-23, filled with world-class DJs and local talents that will blow your socks off and welcome the sultry ambiance of the warmer months in suitable fashion. Witness the triumphant return of Djuma Soundsystem, the funky flexing skills of Bite-Size Buddha, and a back-to-back sets of infectious dance tunes from Demone and Watermelon.

Due to the fact that Migas have possibly the most prized real estate in the city, it is no wonder why this is such an anticipated event. We’ve had countless drunken and embarrassing moments stumbling around the expansive rooftop and can’t wait to have a couple more. As the nights are long and hot once summer comes and the dancing gets sweaty, this is one of the best options (unless the AQI is out of control) for avoiding the obligatory stench of indoor dance parties, especially since the smoking ban no longer seems to apply to the majority of these dance clubs in the Sanlitun area.

Besides the opening weekend, The Bar at Migas have a huge summer planned out that includes house music legend Marshall Jefferson, the last ever Funk Fever, and Chopstick & Johnjon, just to name a few. If that isn’t enough too sending running over to this summer “meat market,” then you probably don’t belong here anyway. For more details, go here.
